Abstract
ObjectiveTo approach the expression and clinicopathological significance of integrin α5β1 and E- selectin proteins in colorectal adenocarcinoma. MethodsUsing immunohistochemistry PV method to detect the expression of integrin α5β1 and E-selectin proteins in 80 colorectal adenocarcinoma,15 colorectal adenoma and 10 mucosae adjacent to carcinoma. ResultsThe positive rates of integrin α5β1 and E-selectin proteins were 67.50% and 58.75%,respectively in 80 cases of colorectal adenocarcinoma. The expression of integrin α5 β1 and E-selectin proteins were remarkably higher in 80 cases of colorectal adenocarcinoma than that in control specimens(P<0.05).The expression of integrin α5β1 and E-selectin proteins in poor differentiated tissues was higher than that in well-moderate differentiated tissues(P<0.05), Integrin α5β1 and E-selectin proteins expression was correlated with the infiltration depth and the different Dukes stage and lymph node metastasis of colorectal adenocarcinoma(P<0.05). The expression of integrin α5β1 was positively correlated with E- selectin(rs=0.264, P<0.05). ConclusionThe high expression of integrin α5β1 and E-selectin proteins in colorectal adenocarcinoma suggests that they might play synergetic roles in invasion and metastasis of the colorectal adenocarcinoma.
