Abstract
To study the relationship between ADH2 genetic polymorphisms and susceptibility to esophageal cancer by Meta-analysis. MethodsDatabase from PubMed,CNKI,Wanfang and Vip searches were collected and relevant papers and the literatures were analyzed by Meta analysis.Odds ratio of ADH2 genotype distributions in patients with esophageal cancer and healthy controls was calculated. Heterogeneity test and pooled OR calculation were analyzed by RevMan 5 soft ware. ResultsOf the case-control studies selected for this Meta analysis, a total of 1419 esophageal cancer cases and 2 776 controls were included. The pooled Odds Ratio of ADH2 genotype *1/*1 vs.*1/*2+*2/*2 was 2.83(95% CI=1.89~4.26);*2/*1 vs.*2/*2 was 1.57(95% CI=1.31~1.88); *1/*1 vs.*2/*2 was 3.31(95% CI=1.97~5.59). ConclusionIt was demonstrated that there was the relationship between ADH2 genetic polymorphisms and susceptibility to esophageal cancer. In other words, the drinkers carring the ADH2 genotype *1 associated with the increased risk of esophageal cancer.
