Analgesic Effects of Compound Capsule of Oxycodone with Acetaminophen and MS Contin Controlled-release Tab on Moderate and Severe Cancer Pains

  • ObjectiveTo compare the analgesic effects of compound capsule of oxycodone and acetaminophen on moderate and advanced cancer pain with MS Contin controlled-release tab. MethodsSixty-eight patients were randomly divided into two groups: Tylox group(group T,n=34) and MS group(group M,n=34). The analgesic effects and side effects were observed and recorded. ResultsTherapeutic effects were good in patients of both groups. There were no significant differences (P>0.05) between group T and group M in the total effective rates especially in the moderate cancer pain allevation rate. But there were significant differences (P<0.05) between group T and group M in side effects such as nausea, vomiting,constipation and urine retention. ConclusionTylox is effective in the treatment of moderate and severe cancer pain.
