Abstract
ObjectiveTo detect the expression of Wnt1,β-catenin,APC and cyclin D1 proteins in human gastric carcinoma. Methods The immunohistochemical staining(LASB) was performed in 45 specimens and normal tissue adjacent to tumor border (>5cm). Results In 45 cases gastric carcinoma, the positive rates of Wnt1,β-catenin and cyclin D1 were 57.78%,73.33% and 51.11% respectively. In comparison, statistic difference is apparent because of their absence (excluding membrane expression of β-catenin) in normal tissue (P<0.01).However,APC expression is lower in gastric carcinoma than that in normal tissue (53.33% vs. 91.11%). There is marked significance likewise(P<0.01).The co-expression (Wnt pathway is activated,Wnt+) rate of Wnt1,β-catenin and cyclin D1 is 44.44%,which is much higher than that in normal tissue(P<0.01). Conclusion Wnt1-β-catenin-APC-cyclinD1 signal pathway is abnormal expressed in gastric carcinoma genesis.
