Impact of Hemoglobin(Hgb) Level on Therapeutic Effect of Radiotherapy in Cervical Cancer Patients

  • Objective To investigate the impact of the cervical cancer patients- hemoglobin(Hgb) level on the prognosis of radical radiotherapy by retrospective analysis. Methods Eight hundred and sixty-two pathologically verified patients with cervical cancer were treated with radical radiotherapy,8MV-X ray was used for external radiation with a dose of (30~36)Gy by anterior-posterior two-fields or boxlike four-fields radiation technique, and then the lymphatic drainage area beside pelvic was added a dose of (18~24)Gy.Meanwhile,the patients were also treated with after loading radiotherapy with the dose of (6~7)Gy/fraction×5-6fraction.The total dose of A point is (60~70)Gy,B point is (50~55)Gy.During the radiotherapy,we gave the patients symptomatic treatment. Results The anemias in different degree have significant impact on the local control rate and long-term survival rate of the cervical cancer patients who were treated with radiotherapy. Conclusion The concentration of Hgb influences the local control rate and long-term survival rate of cervical cancer patients. We should elevate the patients' Hgb level higher than 100g/L before radiation.
