Expression of Dickkopf1 in Two Human Glioma Cell Lines

Objective To detect the expression of dickkopf1 (DKK1) in human glioma cell lines MGR3 and UWR7. Methods The expression of DKK1 in human glioma cell lines MGR3 and UWR7 was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbant assay (ELISA) and reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Results ELISA results demonstrated that the expression of DKK1 was both up-regulated in MGR3 and UWR7.RT-PCR results showed that DKK1 transcription level was high in MGR3 and UWR7, but was not detectable in normal brain tissues. Conclusion DKK1 is over-expressed in glioma cell lines MGR3 and UWR7,which may play an important role in the initiation and development of glioma.
