Trend of Stomach Cancer Mortality in Hebei Province from 2004 to 2005

Objective To investigate the stomach cancer mortality rate in Hebei Province from 1970`s and provide the basis information for cancer prevention and control. Methods According to stratified cluster sampling method,we conducted a survey to 13 791 886 people of 18 cities and counties of Hebei Province in 2004~2005.Then analyze the age,gender specific and the geography distribution of stomach cancer mortality rate with the software provided by Ministry of Health of The People's Republic of China. Results The stomach cancer mortality rate is 29.64/100,000（male 40.61/100 000,female 18.04/100 000）,World standardized rate is 26.53/100 000（male is 37.86/100 000,female is 15.42/100 000）.The median age is 67.0 years.From the point of view of geographical distribution,the stomach cancer mortality rate of Shexian in Handan is still the highest,and Anxin minimum.Analysis according to the Terrain,Hill district' esophageal cancer mortality rate is higher than plain counties,and higher than the coastal counties.The mortality of rural residents is higher than that of rural residents. ConclusionThe trend of crade stomach cancer mortality rate is increased,but the standardized rate is decreased from 1990's to 21 century.
