Treatment of TACE Combined with PEIT for Metastatic Liver Cancer

  • Objective To observe the efficiency of the treatment of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) combined with percutaneous ethanol injection treatment (PEIT) for metastatic liver cancer. Methods 28 cases of metastatic liver cancer in the treatment group first accepted TACE treatment 1~2 times, and then accepted percutaneous ethanol injection therapy(PEIT)3~10 times.29 cases of metastatic liver cancer in the control group accepted full-body routine chemotherapy for 3~4 cycles. Adverse reactions of two groups were observed and follow-up statistician the survival rate of half a year and 1-year for each group. Results In the treatment group, the survival rate of half a year and 1-year was 100% and 85.7%, respectively. For the control group the survival rate of half a year and 1-year was 82.8% and 48.3%, respectively. Thus the difference in the survival rate of 1-year for the two groups was significant. Conclusion The treatment of TACE combined with PEIT for the metastatic liver cancer may improve the efficiency, and was well tolerated by the patients, but the problem of recurrence is not yet to be solved.
