Abstract
ObjectiveTo investigate the expression of NF-κB、VEGF-C、MVD and their relationships with esophageal carcinoma of different constitution. MethodsEnvision immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of NF-κB,VEGF-C and MVD in 47 cases of squamous cell esophageal carcinoma ,41 cases of the adenocarcinoma of esophagus and 34 cases of the small cell carcinoma of the esophagus. ResultsNF-κB positive rate was 59.57% in squamous cell carcinoma of esophagus, and in adenocarcinoma of esophagus and small cell carcinoma of the esophagus, the rates were 36.59% and 67.65%(P<0.05),respectively. The positive rates of VEGF-C were 65.96%、85.37%、79.41% (P>0.05),respectively. ConclusionThe positive rate of VEGF-C in adenocarcinoma of esophagus was higher than that in squamous cell carcinoma of esophagus and small cell carcinoma of the esophagus. But the NF-κB positive rate was the highest in small cell carcinoma of the esophagus.MVD results showed no difference due to possible different mechanism of angiogenesis. Further investigation will be necessary in order to understand the concrete mechanism.
