Analysis of 28 Cases Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma with Distant Metastasis Within 2 Years

  • Objective  To evaluate the influence factors and interfere ways of nasopharyngeal carcinoma occurred distant metastasis with in 2 years af ter completion of the radiation t reatment . Methods  Statisticses January 2000 to December 2001, 303 nasopharyngeal carcinoma cases t reated by radiotherapy ( the Ⅲ、Ⅳa stage patient s plus chemotherapy), 28 cases occurred distant metastasis within 2 years, analyze its influence factor and the effect of chemotherapy. Results  The distant metastasis there are significance difference among N stage. But no significance difference between the Ⅲ, Ⅲa stage patient s plus chemotherapy and the Ⅰ, Ⅱ stage patient s with radiotherapy only ( P > 0. 05) . Conclusion  Chemotherapy adjunctive to radiotherapy is benefit to locally advanced patients, could reduce the rate of distant metastasis.
