Rat Model Establ ishment of Brain Radiation Injury

Objective 　To establish an animal model by which study on the brain radiation injuries. Methods 　Forth New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided four groups and irradiated by 6 MVX ray at a single dose of 10, 15, 20 and 30 Gy. Three-dimensional reconstructed images were set up assisted CT. The designation of therapy plans and adjustment of dose distributions on the same pre-irradiation target areas with the volume about 1 cm ×1 cm ×1 cm were all by ways of three dimensional conformal radiation therapy plan system( TPS) . Results The isodose curve showed that 100 % target volume were covered with 95 % isodose outline. The dose distributions were uniform and the irradiation volume was about (1 ±0. 03) cm³ . Conclusion 　The rabbit model appears to be an excellent model for study on the brain radiation injury.
