Expression of MMP-9 and E-cadherin in Early Gastric Carcinoma and Metastasic Lymph Node

  • 摘要: 目的 检测MMP-9和E-cadherin在早期胃癌和相应转移淋巴结组织中的表达,探索早期胃癌起源及侵袭转移的相关机制。 方法 采用免疫组织化学技术检测25例早期胃癌,25例早期胃癌转移淋巴结中MMP-9和E-cadherin表达情况。 结果 MMP-9表达与Lauren's 分型、淋巴结转移及浸润深度有关;E-cadherin表达与分化、Lauren's 分型及淋巴结转移有关;MMP-9和E-cadherin的表达在早期胃癌与转移淋巴结之间有很大差别,且E-cadherin与MMP-9之间存在负相关关系。 结论 在胃癌的演进转移过程中,MMP-9和E-cadherin出现异常表达,这说明其在胃癌演进过程中有着重要作用,可以作为早期胃癌生物学行为的客观标志物;而且这两种因素间的互相作用更加速了肿瘤演进过程。

     

    Abstract: Objective To investigate the expression of MMP-9 and E-cadherin in early gastric carcinoma and metastasic lymph node to explore the mechanism of gastric carcinogenesis and invasion or metastasis. Methods Immunohistochemical methods were used to detect the expressions of MMP-9 and E-cadherin in 25 cases of early gastric carcinoma and 25 cases of metastastic lymph node from early gastric carcinoma. Results The expression of MMP-9 was significantly correlated with Lauren's classification, LN metastasis and infiltrating depth. The expression of E-cadherin was significantly correlated with differentiation, Lauren's classification, and LN metastasis. There was significant difference between early gastric carcinoma and metastasic lymph node for the expression of MMP-9 and E-cadherin. There was a reverse correlation between MMP-9 and E-cadherin. Conclusion With the tumor progression, the abnormal expressions of MMP-9 or E-cadherin are gradually correspondingly increasing, thus suggesting that they play a crucial role in gastric carcinoma progression and can be objective markers for biological behaviors of early gastric carcinoma. Furthermore, these two factors influence each other and further accelerate the process of tumor progression.
