Abstract:
Seven cases of gastric leiomyoblastoma were reported with review of literature. The clinical manifestations of this tumor are mainly abdominal pain(5/7), bleeding(5/7), aneamia (4/7) and abdominal mass(4/7). Preoperative diagnosis isalmost impossible and diagnosis is usually made by exploratory laparotomy. Thepathological findings showed that the tumor consists of leiomyoid and epithelioidcells and that the cytoplasm of the tumor cells is water-clear in varing degrees. The prognosis of the disease is generally good, if it can be detected and treatedearly. The histogenesis of this tumor was discussed and main points of clinicaldiagnosis and differentiation were emphasized.
