Abstract:
Quantitative assessment of Langerhans cells (LC)were performed by ABC immunohistochemical method in specimens of transitional cell carcinoma of bladder (TCC, n= 49) and normal transitionalcell mucosa (NTM, n=15), the histological grade, followup were analysed. The mean density ofLC (cells/HPF) was significantly higher in TCC (Ⅰ=12. 87; Ⅱ =13. 00;Ⅲ=6. 44) than thosein NTM (3. 16) (P0. 01). There is a significant difference between grade, and grade 1, andsame was found between grade., and grade Ⅰ (P0. 01). There was no significant difference between grade Ⅰ and Ⅱ (P0. 05). A significant difference of survival in TCC was found betweenLC high index (8/HPF) and low index (8/HPF) (P0. 025). The results suggest that LC wasdirectly involved in host immune reaction against tumor, and LC detedion may had a implant valueto determine the prognosis of TCC.
