Abstract:
This paper studies 1254 patients with cervical cancer treated by radiation therapy from January 1970 to December 1973.The patients were divided into 3 groups:group 1 external four fields vertical radiotherapy plus conventional radium intracaritary irradiation;group 2 vertical radiotherapy of two large fields or cross radiotheragy of 3-,4-,5-,6-field plus partial radium therapy;group 3 external beam therapy alone. The results of 3 groups showed that the 5-and 10-year survival rates for group 1,2 and 3 were 67.5% and 36.7%,49.7% and 19.6%,27.5% and 11.7%,respectively.The evident differences of these had statistical significance(
P<0.005).The therapeutie effect of group 1 were best among these 3 groups. The later the disease periods, the lower the survival rates. It's suggest that surrival rates be increased by improving techniques and increasing dose at point A and point B,though sequelac increased.
