Abstract:
Specimens of 46 cases of the hepatocellular carcinoma and 38 cases of their pericancerous liver tissues were obtained from the pothologic laboratory of Southwest Hospital.Formalin-fixed and paraffinembedded sections were stained for HCV core, NS3 antigen and HBsAg by SP method (Streptavidin Peroxdase Conjugataed Method).Of the 46 cases of the HCC,21.7%for HCV core antigen、23·9%for HCV NS3 antigen and 19·6% for HBsAg were detected in HCC cells,of the 38 cases of their pericancerous liver tissues,36·8% for HCV core antigen,39·5%for HCV NS3 antigen and 78. 9%for HBsAg were detected in liver cells·HCV core antigen、 NS3 antigen associated with HBsAg were 23.9 % and 19. 6 0 o,respectively. HBsAg without HCV core antigen, NS3 antigen were 47.8%and 5000,respectively. Both of two antigens were situated in the cytoplasm of the hepatocytes and HCC cells, whilst some of the antigen were located in the peri-nucleus portion in the peri-can-cerous tissues. The cells with antigen were distributed diffusely.focally and sporadically. It is suggested from the above findings that HCV core、NS3 antigen could be regarded as an additional new diagnostic markers for HCV infection.HCV and HBV might play a quite important role in the development of HCC,particularly, some patients were associated with concurrent infection of HBV and HCV. The role of the concurrent infection of HBV and HCV in the pathogenesis of the HCC is to be further investigated.
