Methods Analyze 5201 primary oral-maxillofcial neoplasms proved by pathohistology according to their clinicopathologic feature, histological type, sex, age and primary site with comparison to all new pathologically cnfirmed primary neoplasms. Results The neoplasms in this region constitute 7.67% of those in all sites and 19.39% of those in head and neck. The incidence of oral-maxillofacial cancer is slightly higher than that of benign oral-maxillofacial neoplasms and men are more frequently affected by cancer than women at a ratio of 1.68∶1.Most benign cases occur in patients between 21 and 30 years of age while cancer mostly occur in patients between 51 and 60 year of age.The commonest cancer in oral-maxillofacoal region is carcinoma (82.07%),most of them are squamous cell carcinoma and the tongue exceed all other sites.
