Abstract:
Objectivc To observe the effect of cmbination cisplatin with radiotherapy in treating the patients with advanced cervical cancer. Methods from July 1985 to July 1992 fortyeight patients with advanced cervical cancer received combination cisplatin (20mg d1-5),for 1-3 cycles followed by radiotherapy forty-five matched patients received radiotherapy alone. Results The 5-year survival rates of radiotherapy alone and combination therapy (cisplatin plus radiotherapy) were 43.0% and 68.0%,respectively.Combination therapy had better longterm effect than radiotherapy alone (P<0.05).5-year survival rate of stage in combination therapy was much higher than that of stage in radiotherapy along (P<0.05).The PR of radiotherapy alone and combination therapy were 40% and 45% respectively with no difference (P>0.05). Conclusion A higher 5-year survival rate in patients with advanced cervival cancer is observed with combination therapy.
