Abstract:
Objective To describe and analyze the cancer incidence and mortality in Shijiazhuang cancer registries, 2016.
Methods We collected the data of new cases and deaths from Shijiazhuang cancer registries. The crude rates of incidence, mortality and the top 10 cancers were calculated and stratified by areas and gender. Chinese population census in 2000 and Segi's population were used for calculating the age-standardized incidence/mortality rates.
Results The cancer registries in Shijiazhuang in 2016 covered a total of 4 639 125 populations, including 2 228 577 in the urban area and 2 356 548 in the rural area. There were about 11 644 and 6, 524 of new cancer cases and cancer deaths, respectively. The crude incidence was 251.34/105 (male: 270.32/105, female: 231.86/105), ASR China and ASR world were 176.39/105 and 172.89/105, and the cumulative incidence rate(0-74 years old) was 20.72%. The crude mortality was 140.63/105(male: 179.07/105, female: 102.57/105), ASR China and ASR world were 90.75/105 and 90.47/105, and the cumulative mortality rate (0-74 years old) was 10.82%. Cancers of lung, stomach, breast, liver, colorectum were the most common cancers, accounting for about 56.62% of all new cancer cases. The main cancer deaths were lung cancer, stomach cancer, liver cancer, esophageal cancer, colorectal cancer, accounting for about 71.31% of all cancer deaths.
Conclusion Lung cancer, stomach cancer, breast cancer, liver cancer and colorectal cancer are the most common cancers with high incidence and mortality in Shijiazhuang.
