Abstract:
Objective To compare the clinicopathological characteristics of primary lung cancer patients in He' nan in 2004 and 2014.
Methods We reviewed the clinical data of primary lung cancer patients treated in He' nan Cancer Hospital in 2004 and 2014, such as gender, age, area, smoking status and pathological type.
Results A total of 3241 patients, 805 cases in 2004 and 2436 cases in 2014, met the inclusion criteria. The male-female ratios were 2.45:1 and 2.12:1 in 2004 and 2014 (χ2=2.664, P=0.103), the average age were (58.83±11.13) and (60.00±10.69) years old (Z=1.914, P=0.056), the proportions of smoking patients were 60.12% and 50.94% (χ2=20.481, P < 0.001), the proportions of rural patients were 49.69% and 68.27% (χ2=90.264, P < 0.001), the proportions of adenocarcinoma were 36.27% and 48.44%(χ2=36.130, P < 0.001), the proportion of squamous cell carcinoma were 38.39% and 20.44% (χ2=104.157, P < 0.001), and the proportions of small cell carcinoma were 15.78% and 20.57% (χ2=8.887, P=0.003).
Conclusion Compared with 2004, the proportions of female patients, rural patients, adenocarcinoma and small cell carcinoma increase in 2014, while the proportions of patients less than 40 years old, smoking patients and squamous cell carcinoma decrease.
