Abstract:
As a member of homeobox gene, HOXB13 is frequently expressed in prostate tissues and can regulate the growth and development of prostate tissues. The incidence of G84E mutation in Euramerican prostate cancer patients with HOXB13 is higher than that of normal population, while a novel HOXB13 gene mutation G135E is associated with increased prostate cancer risk in China. High expression of HOXB13 in prostate cancer tissues indicates poor prognosis of patients. This paper reviews the functions of HOXB13 in prostate cancer and related mechanisms.
