Abstract:
Objective To explore the risk factors of gastric cancer in Xianyou County, and to provide reference for the prevention and treatment of the gastric cancer.
Methods We collected 433 cases of gastric cancer which were confirmed by pathology in Xianyou Hospital of Fujian from March 2013 to July 2015. The high, medium and low incidence of gastric cancer in villages and towns were divided according to the standardized mortality rate of gastric cancer, and then took the village as a unit to select the healthy population randomly. 1:2 matched case-control investigation was based on population according to the age (±three years old), gender and residence. The data was analyzed by conditional Logistic regression, and the OR value and 95% confidence limit were calculated.
Results After controlling and considering other confounding factors, eating too fast, eating hard diet, often eating pickles, smoking, stomach disease history, family history of cancer, the use of pesticides, not satisfied with their family could increase the risk of gastric cancer in Xianyou county; and often eating vegetables, edible fungus, beef, kelp and seaweed and onion were the protect factors.
Conclusion The incidence of gastric cancer in Xianyou County is related to a variety of factors, especially local eating habits of pickles and the use of pesticides, and it should take comprehensive measures to reduce the incidence of gastric cancer.
