Abstract:
NF-κB regulates the transcription of various genes involved in the immunoregulation, growth regulation, inflammation, carcinogenesis and cell survival. Recent researches show that NF-κB plays significant roles in the regulation of radiosensitivity in cancer, which is one significant participant in the regulatory mechanisms. Radiotherapy is the primary treatment for tumor. The disease control rate and survival time are able to be greatly improved by enhancing the radiosensitivity. This article reviews the mechanism of NF-κB regulating the radiosensitivity of cancer and its clinical application prospect in radiotherapy.
