Abstract:
Objective To review the clinical research literatures on cancer susceptibility genes in colorectal cancer over the past decade and to provide reference for prevention of colorectal cancer. Methods Literatures were searched in Embase and Pubmed from January, 2001 to December, 2010. In this Bioinformatics analysis, 1453 literatures involved were managed with Endnote X3 and data was processed with Excel 2007. Results One hundred and eighty-fi ve colorectal cancer susceptibility genes were selected from 1453 literatures. The proteins mainly involved cell cycle regulation, cell cycle, cell proliferation, negative regulation of cell cycle, response to endogenous stimulus, response to DNA damage, DNA repair, apoptosis regulation, etc. There were 31 Hub genes and 15 bottleneck genes by Cytoscape analysis. Conclusion Searching for sensitive and specific genes and multi-gene profiles will be an important target in researches on colorectal cancer susceptibility genes in the future.
