Abstract:
Objective To study the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor-C(VEGF-C)and epithelial cadherin (E-cadherin) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and its significance. Methods Seventy-seven patients with NSCLC were enrolled and used for detecting the expression of VEGF-C and E-cadherin by immunohistochemical SP method, and analyze the relationship between their expression and clinical pathological factors and their relativity. Results VEGF-C positive expression rate in NSCLC was 63.6%,E-cadherin positive expression rate was 32.5%,and there were significant differences compared with the expression rate of these proteins in the normal lung tissues, respectively. The positive expression of VEGF-C was related to TNM stage, differentiation degree, lymph node metastasis and pathology classification(
P<0.05).The negative expression of E-cadherin was related to TNM stage, lymph node metastasis and pathology classification(
P<0.05).The negative correlation was found between the expression of VEGF-C and E-cadherin(
P<0.01),correlation coefficient was rs=-0.571. Conclusion The high level expression of VEGF-C or the low level expression of E-cadherin maybe play an important role in the biological behavior of NSCLC.
