Abstract:
Objective To investigate the expression of Aquaporin-1 in nasopharyngeal tumor and non-tumor tissues. Methods Thirty nasopharyngeal biopsy samples were collected and examined with both immunohistochemistry and real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR to detect the expression level of AQP1 in tissues. Results AQP1 was expressed both in nasopharyngeal tumor and normal tissues, but tumor tissues were stained a lot stronger than non-tumor tissues.The over-expression of AQP1 in tumor tissues.Furthmore,the migrated tumor tissue had even higher expression. Conclusion Expression level of Aquaporin-1 in nasopharyngeal cancer tissue could be involved in tumor migration.
