Abstract:
Objective To investigate theinhibition effects of artesunate on the human endometrial carcinoma cells(Ishikawa). Methods The proliferation, apoptosis and cell cycle were detected by MTT and FCM,respectively, after Ishikawa cells were treated by artessunateatdifferent concentrations. Results Artesunatesignificantly inhibited the proliferation of ishikawa cells withthe IC50of45.063μmol/L, induced cell apoptosis with the maximalapoptosis rate 58.31%, andarrestedthe cell cycle in G
1 phase at low concentration and in G
2 phase at 100 μmol/L. The apoptotic peak was observed in thepoint of 24 h at 25μmol/L. Conclusion Artesunatecould inhibit cellular growth and facilitate the inducing of apoptosis via modulating cell cycle, which may be aneffectiveclinical treatmentto endometrial carcinoma.
