Abstract:
Objective To study the clinical and radiologic characteristic of lung hemangioma and to discuss the diagnosis and treatment of this disease. Methods Data of 12 giant lung hemangioma cases, hospitalized from February 1990 to June 2008 were analyzed retrospectively. Two cases were lung hemangioma cavernosum. Three cases were pulmonary artery aneurysms. Seven cases were pulmonary arteriovenous fistula. All patients were treated by pulmonary lobectomy. Bilateral multiple cases were treated by pulmonary lobectomy of the serious lobe. Results No perioperative death and serious complications happened. Bleeding ranged from 80~150 ml. There was no recurrence during 6 to 204 months follow-up. Conclusion Comprehensive history and various imaging technology are helpful to the characteristic showing and right preoperative diagnosis. The treatment of giant lung hemangioma is pulmonary lobectomy. But the cases with extensive adhesions of visceral and layer pleural should be treated prudently.
