Abstract:
Objective The purpose of this study is to investigate the potential role of Cyclin H /Cyclin Dependent Kinase 7 in tumorigenesis of ovarian carcinoma. Methods Tissue samples from 40 patients with ovarian carcinoma were selected for studying Cyclin H/CDK7 protein expression, by using western blot analysis. Results Cyclin H and CDK7 protein levels were found increased in ovarian cancer as compared with those in normal tissues, with a median increasing value of 3.9 and 2.9-fold respectively (
P<0.05). It was found that up-requlations of Cyclin H and CDK7 were tightly related to FIGO stage in ovarian cancer (
P<0.05). Expression of Cyclin H was found in a positive linear correlation fashion with CDK7 in tumor (
r=0.401,
P<0.05). Conclusion Overexpression of Cyclin H/CDK7 may play an important role in tumorigenesis of ovarian carcinoma, and the possible mechanism needs further investigation.
